Stockholm Sangeet Festival of 2020 has been postponed
The 14th edition of Scandinavia´s most prestigiuos festival for Indian classical music and dance that was supposed to take place in November will be postponed until we are able to organize an event that is totally safe for everyone. Stockholm Sangeet is following the developments closely and will announce updates at our homepage, facebook and Instagram. We do hope to arrange the festival early next year.

The main concert day will take place at Musikvalvet Baggen in the old town in Stockholm, where will enjoy the classical music and dance separated into three different session for morning, afternoon and evening. The venue will allow for the audience to enjoy the fesival in a traditional intimate baithak setting, with acoustics and ambience reminiscent of the old days of classical music in India.
Young Sangeet will take place at the Saraswathy Kalakendra Institution of Fine Arts in Vårby. Suitable for the children from the age 4 years and up, there will be Puppet Theatre from Rajasthan and the chance to try Indian classical dance in a playful manner. For 12 year olds and up, the day will be finished with a session of Bollywood dance.
Bollywood Classic Afternoon at the Nut House in Upplands Väsby is an rare opportunity to enjoy the evergreen songs from the golden era performed live after a nice lunch, and also to interact to know more about the instruments and the the music.
Stockholm Sangeet Festival 2020 is arranged by Stockholm Sangeet Förening in collaboration with Farhang Förening, Musikvalvet Baggen, The Nuthouse, Saraswathy Kalakendra Institution of Fine Arts and Odissi Dansproduktion with support from Region Stockholm, Indian Embassy of Sweden and Latvia and Statens Kulturråd.
